Preserve Your SMP
and Your New You.
Proper aftercare performed by you is as essential as your artist sterilizing their equipment. This continued treatment not only preserves the quality of the ink, but ensures that your skin heals properly over time after treatments. You should continue all care procedures as described by your SMP artist until the treatment has healed entirely.
WASH, PAT DRY, APPLY OINTMENT -
NO SWEATING allowed for 3 DAYS
Your artist will clean area immediately following the appointment. This is to clean up the tiny impressions and absorb any lingering blood from the SMP procedure. (rarely is there any blood) Once you're are home, 72 hours later, you should gently wash the area with warm water. Pat dry afterward to retain moisture, and utilize antibacterial ointment and moisturizing sealant to make sure your skin doesn't acquire an infection or dry out while it heals. You may need to repeat this process every day for up to 7 days depending on the size of your SMP treats area.
Finally, if you want to preserve the look of your new SMP look, you should regularly apply moisturizer and sunscreen. Your SMP is inevitably going to fade and lose its shiny luster as skin cells constantly die and replace themselves. You can delay this process by taking care of your skin. You can expect to go 4-8 years before needing a touchup session.
01 Washing
Gently wash the affected on the fourth day after treatment with very mild shampoo. Do not scrub the area dry, but simply pat down.
02 Ointment
Antibacterial ointment that we provide keeps the possibility of infection away even when you're not freshly washing your the treated area area.
03 Moisturizing
Moisturizing sealant and cream locks in water so that your skin doesn't otherwise dry out. It also prevents the ink from fading. You may start to use at day 5 - along with sunscreen.
